If we believe the legend, Charlemagne discovered the graves of the city’s patron saints Felix and Regula and had a church built as a monastery on the spot. The Grossmünster is a Protestant Reformed church and it is located in the old town.

Together with St. Peter’s Chruch and the Fraumunster, these are the most famous and well-known churches in the city. But the characteristic twin towers make this the landmark of Zurich.

Mr. Chagall has a unique and remarkable motto: “When I create something from my heart, almost everything goes well” throughout his whole life. Important: The Fraumünster Church is closed for groups during the coronavirus crisis.
For individual visitors, for personal prayer, the church is open as follows:

Good to note down, with the Fraumünster entrance ticket you will get a reduction of five francs for the entrance to the Marc Chagall Collection in the Kunsthaus Museum.

6. The Bahnhofstrasse

What are the opening hours of the Bahnhofstrasse?

The opening hours for almost all shops on the Bahnhofstrasse are from Mon to Fri 09:00 – 19:00 / 20:00. Good to know, that the smaller shops and most jewellers, outside the centre close at 18:30.

Some shops are closed on Monday mornings, check this on the specific shop’s website you are looking to visit. On Saturdays, most shops open from 09:00 – 17:00 (or 18:00, department stores until 20:00).
